Overview

In response to demand from our clients, Adventure Runners has developed the flexibility required to customise trips for groups of people wanting activities and schedules that cannot be covered by the normal tours and trails. Groups range from private holiday groups, school trips and 'veld-skool' camps, scout camps, corporate getaways and team-building exercises, fishing competitions and many other tours where the group has a specific need.

Depending on the trip, types of activities, schedule required and number of participants, various cost and trip duration options can be offered.

Discounts are available for all group bookings on standard and customised tours. Discounts range from 'book 10 places get one free' options to more normal percentage discounts on standard rates for groups who 'buy out' an entire trip. Discounts are not cumulative with any special promotions running for a trip.

An ideal size canoe adventure trip is 24 people but we can accomodate more or less depending on the requirements. The minium number of people needed before we can run a multiple day canoe trip is around 10, but this minium can change depending on your requirements. Please note that these are estimates and depend heavily on the customised trip itinerary and associated logistics.

Schools & Teen Groups

Customised Black Eagle Trips

Adventure Runners has run numerous customised canoe trips for school children ages 12 and up. These trips are based on the standard Black Eagle Canoe Trail with various customised options such as an updated food menu to suit the students, discount per person based on the size of the group and a free place for an adult for every 10 students booked. These trips have run with over 30 people and are a great success - proven by the fact that we have had schools returning each year with a new batch of students. Make it just for holiday fun or turn it into a real ecological learning experience.

'Veld Skool' Trips

An old concept which we hope to revive amoungst the schools in Southern Africa. All of us at Adventure Runners have been to numerous 'veld skool' outings when we were young and remembering the fun times had by all, we are hoping to start running more outdoor school type trips in the future. Right now trips are entirely customisable based on each schools needs but would include canoeing, hiking, orienteering, geology and ecology lessons, leadership and team-building exercises aimed at the youth market. Corporate Teams

Is your team fraying at the edges? Do you need to get them away from work and the stress of corporate life? Do you need to recharge the old batteries and get everyone revved up for the next phase of your world domination? Well, how about leaving civilisation behind and roughing it along the Orange river for a week? Try us, we can customise a trip to your exact needs - be they a simple fun holiday for all or a team-building trip away from the office. Group package deals can be worked out to meet your exact schedule and budget requirements. We can co-ordinate the event with your existing corporate travel agents.

Outdoor Clubs & Other groups

Part of a fishing club? Want to organise a private trip to catch that big one (6.5kg Yellowfish is the largest caught so far)? Are you an avid bird-watcher? Well, why not haul out the old Roberts checklist and float quietly down the river spying out black footed fish eagles, kingfishers, Goliath herons - there are over 175 birds species in the Orange river area. Are you a scout leader? Well, how about running a scouts camp and getting the novices to catch supper or navigate by the stars or test their survival skills in a safe environment.
